A Star is lost
Humanity lost a kind, caring, and generous soul last weekend. Laura Ashman was a passionate and selfless woman with a tremendous spirit. She worked hard for Cosmos Education - helping to organize fundraisers, visiting our teams on the ground, and quietly donating to help our team implement our vision. I only had the good fortune of meeting Laura on a few occasions when I visited Chicago to work with her and Jessica (former CE-US Executive Director) on fundraisers. Laura's smile and caring eyes, however, are unforgettable. She worked so hard on so many occasions to help make our events a success. She felt passionate about our work and that passion translated into action that has benefited so many students on the ground in Africa. She will be missed by many and our thoughts and prayers go out to Laura, her family, and her many friends.
- K.P. Hand, CE-US Ex. Dir. June 24, 2009
Donations made in honor of Laura will go to a scholarship fund, in her name, for African students who volunteer with Cosmos Education.
